BOXNATION TO SHOW FUTURE HALL-OF-FAMER SHANE MOSLEY’S RING RETURN EXCLUSIVELY LIVE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT

LONDON (23 May) – The ring return of future Hall-of-Famer and boxing great ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley will be exclusively live on BoxNation as he challenges interim WBA welterweight champion David Avanesyan this Saturday night.

44-year-old Mosley is coming off an impressive stoppage win over Venezuelan Patrick Lopez last December as he takes on the tough Russian Avanesyan, who has just a solitary defeat on his record after 23 fights.

The victor of the bout is stipulated by the WBA to face the winner of next month’s clash between Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter, increasing the stakes for both fighters as they look to capture the regular world title at 147-pounds.

Taking place at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona, three-weight world champion Mosley will have the backing of boxing icon and new trainer Roberto Duran in his corner.

“I plan to put on a clinic,” Mosley said. “I’m not just going to win. I’m going to annihilate him. In 2009 they said I was done but they were wrong. I’m glad people know this is a real competitive fight. It will be a challenge, but when I win, the world will know.”

Mosley has bounced back with two impressive wins since his 2013 stoppage loss against Anthony Mundine, gaining victories against former two-weight champion Ricardo Mayorga before his most recent triumph over Lopez.

Overcoming Avanesyan will prove his stiffest test since Mundine, however, with the skilled Russian being first-ranked by the WBA and having never been stopped in his career.
