Khan-vs-Brook

Subsequent to his impressive victory against mandatory challenger Jo Jo Dan this past Saturday, Kell Brook has made it abundantly clear which fight he has his sights categorically set on.

A British super fight with arch nemesis Amir Khan is on top of Brook’s wish list, however, despite the “Special One’s” enthusiasm, recent reports suggest that Khan is in no hurry to sign on the dotted line, making the long anticipated tussle as far away as ever.

The 28-year-old Khan, who is training with Virgil Hunter in San Francisco, spoke with Sky Sports News HQ about his intentions to square off against the popular Sheffield star.

“I would love to go into the ring with him, it could be his last fight against me because the thing is, I’ll give him that much of a beating that it could end up being his last fight,” said an uber-confident Khan.

“After watching his last performance I know I can do a fight and I can do a deal there, winner takes all. That’s it Kell Brook, if you want to take the fight winner takes it all.”

The former two-weight world champion was also dismissive about the level of opposition Brook has faced in his career, especially Saturday night’s foe, Jo Jo Dan.

“Kell Brook versus No No Dan. If Kell wants that fight with me he needs to up his game,” stated Khan.

The former Olympic silver medalist is still convinced that a possible super fight with the winner of the upcoming showdown between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao on May 2 is a real possibility for the fall, making Brook the lowest if his priorities.

“There is a lot of talk around the world, the winner fights Khan, which puts me in a great position because I would love to fight both of them,” said an eager Khan.

Promoter Eddie Hearn was extremely vocal following his charge’s knockout victory on Saturday, confirming that Wembley is available on June 13 if Khan wishes to accept the challenge.

Yet, with a fight lined up at the end of May and Ramadan in June, Khan confirmed that there would be no way he could make June 13 date.

“Ramadan starts and I want to prepare for that. Like I said we don’t want to rush this fight, it is going to be a big fight.”

Although June 13 seems to be a nonstarter, “King Khan” believes a fight with Brook is destined to happen later 2015 or early 2016.

“It will be within the next 12 months. Hopefully it can happen at the end of this year or early next year,” said the man from Bolton.

Therefore, with both fighters talking the talk, but unfortunately not walking the walk, it is clearly evident that a Battle of Britain is still light years from coming to fruition.
