Saul Alvarez vs. Liam Smith

To virtually no ones surprise, Canelo Alvarez looked impressive against the UK’s Liam Smith. Alvarez worked Smiths body from the opening bell and eventually it took its toll. By round 7 Liam had been dropped to the canvas from a vicious body blow and in the 9th it finished the Englishman.

Gabriel Rosado vs. Willie Monroe Jr.

In the co-main event of the night, Willie Monroe Jr defeated the always resilient King Gabe Rosado via unanimous decision. The bout lacked action but at the end of the day, Monroe did what he had to do to clinch the WBO Inter-Continental middleweight title and may possibly put himself in position for a showdown with the winner of Canelo/Smith.

Joseph Diaz vs. Andrew Cancio

Making his PPV debut, Joseph “JoJo” Diaz, took care of business in Dallas. Diaz literally left his mark on Cancio, who by the end of the fight, was a bloody mess. The bout lasted 9 rounds but by no means did it need to. Diaz improves to 22-0 and completed his 13th KO.

Diego De La Hoya vs. Luis Orlando Del Valle

In a bout that put a Mexican against a Puerto-Rican, Mexicali’s Diego De La Hoya added another impressive win to his resume. De La Hoya controlled the pace and dictated virtually every round in his PPV debut. Final scorecards read 99-91 X2 and 100-90 respectively.

Eddie Gomez vs. Dario Ferman

Sadam Ali vs. Saul Corral

Brooklyn’s Sadam Ali gets a hard fought win over Saul Corral. Ali seemed to almost close the show in the 4th round but Corral powered through and went the distance. Ali improves to 23-1.

Zachary Ochoa vs. Daniel Montoya

Up and coming prospect Zachary Ochoa adds another W to his rising stock in boxing with a one-sided  unanimous decision victory over Daniel Montoya. Ochoa is now 16-0 with 7 KOs.

Joshua Franco vs. Bryan Bazan

Texas’ own Joshua Franco took care of business in his home state by knocking out Bryan Bazan and improving to 7-0.

Alexis Salazar vs. Larry Smith

Alexis Salazar, a Canelo Promotions fighter, added another win to his record by defeating journeyman Larry Smith. Final judges scorecards read 60-43 X2 and 58-56.

Hector Tanajara vs. Roy Garcia

Hector Tanajara of the Robert Garcia Boxing Academy dominates Roy Garcia and cruises to a UD victory with scores of 40-36 X3.

Anthony Yarde vs. Rayford Johnson

In a very uneventful opening bout, Yarde improves to 8-0 by making easy work of Rayford Johnson via first round stoppage.

Vergil Ortiz vs. Ernesto Hernandez

Within the first 40 seconds of the opening round, Vergil Ortiz Jr lands a sensational right hand and knocks out Ernesto Hernandez. The Dallas native is now 2-0 with both wins coming by way of knockout. Keep an eye on this kid.
