Well, it seems that we are one step closer to a fight between WBC Middleweight champion Miguel Cotto and Junior Middleweight superstar Canelo Alvarez.

According to an article by ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael, the contracted weight has already been agreed upon.

“The contract weight for the fight will be 155 pounds, five less than the Middleweight limit of 160 and one over the Junior Middleweight limit of 154,” said Rafael.

If the fight gets made, it will likely take place on either November 7 or 21.

Cotto, 34, is coming of his stoppage win over Daniel Geale in June, while Alvarez, 24, is coming of his stoppage win over James Kirkland in May.

Who do you think the weight contract benefits? If it is an even deal, who do you give the edge to?
