In a fight that ultimately became a one-note game of “how hard can you hit me?” David Lemieux outpointed Marco Reyes to a 10-round unanimous decision.
Lemieux came out swinging for the fences as always and found the target early. What he perhaps wasn’t expecting was the diamond grade chin of Reyes. Reyes took shots that have damn near killed other Middleweights and simply wobbled around the ring never going down.
More trademark Lemieux came out when he found himself breathing heavy in the latter rounds, and troubled by a simple jab from Reyes. It didn’t trouble Lemieux too much though as he mostly coasted his way to the end in a fight that bored most who tuned in.
Lemieux won on all three cards by wide margins of 99-90 x2 and 98-91.
“He is a solid fighter,” said Lemieux after the victory. “I give him the respect, he went the full 10 rounds. I could have done better but I hurt my hand after round two.”
