Demetrius Andrade  (23-0, 15 KOs) will now have a chance to fight for a world title for a second time as he knocked Willie Nelson (25-2-1, 15 KOs) down four times en route to a twelfth-round TKO victory at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York.

The fight, which was televised on Showtime Sports, earned Andrade a shot at the WBC Super Welterweight title, which is currently held by Jermell Charlo.

Andrade, 28, of Rhode Island, completely dominated Nelson in each round, using his boxing skills to land combination punches in each round.

Nelson, 29, of Cleveland, Ohio, could not deal with the variety of punch output from Andrade, the former WBO 154-pound champions.

After more than a year of inactivity, the WBO stripped Andrade’s title late last year, but he is back on track with another victory tonight.

“I’m coming to get those belts,” said Andrade. “People can’t run no more. The best have to fight the best. I’m coming for them.

“I came back, I’m stronger. Me and my team worked hard. We figured out what we need to do to take it to the next level. I’m ready for the Charlo brothers. I want them,” said Andrade.

Nelson, on the other hand, suffers yet another defeat in his career, but he says it won’t went like this.

“He was tough,” Nelson said. “I was forcing my shots too much. I felt like I was getting back into the fight, but he was crafty and mobile.”

“I am ready for whatever is next and, despite what happened tonight, I am here to stay. My career won’t end like this.”
