On June 18, 2016, Erickson Lubin (15-0, 11 KOs) scored a third-round stoppage victory against Daniel Sandoval (38-0, 35 KOs) at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois.

The scheduled 10-round fight was televised on NBC.

Lubin, a 20-year-old Super Welterweight prospect from Orlando, Florida, showed his superior skill by coming forward with crisp, sharp punches.

Sandoval, whose record was full of less-than-stellar opposition, had no chance from the start. The 25-year-old native of Guadalajara, Mexico had no chance against Lubin, who quickly ended matters with a hard combination in Round 3.

“I felt great. He’s a veteran so I wanted to take my time and get him out of there by chipping away. I saw that he was hurt with a hook. I saw that it cut him and I wanted to rush him. A flurry of punches and the ref stopped it,” said Lubin.

“I’m looking at going higher in the rankings. My team knows I’ll fight everybody. They have to stop me from fighting people cause I’ll say yes to anyone. I just want a title and I’ll do anything to get there,” said Lubin.
