On Tuesday, April 14, 2015, Floyd Mayweather held a media workout ahead of his epic May 2 clash with Manny Pacquiao.

Fans and media alike were anxious to see Mayweather go through the motions of working the mitts, speed bag, heavy bag and more.

Mayweather–who was in great spirits–spoke with Fight Hub TV’s Marcos Villegas regarding his matchup with the Filipino icon and what it really means to him.

“I’m happy that the fans are going to see us two meet on May 2,” said Mayweather.

While Mayweather stated that it is not his job to assess whether or not Pacquiao is a great fighter, he did talk about his own skill.

“It’s not for me to rate Manny Pacquiao. I’ve gotta rate Floyd Mayweather, and I’m a great fighter.”

A lot is riding on this fight in terms of legacy. Pacquiao was named “Fighter of the Decade” by the Boxing Writers Association of America for the years spanning from 2000 to 2009.

Many people justify that recognition by pointing to the fact that he is an eight-division champion as well. For Pacquiao, a win over Mayweather will be the icing on the cake to an already hall of fame career.

Mayweather on the other hand has remained undefeated and atop the mythical pound-for-pound list for years, branding himself “TBE” or The Best Ever in the process.

While Mayweather’s overall body of work does speak volumes, a loss to Pacquiao will certainly hurt his claims of being the best fighter ever and of his era.
