On Saturday, November 14, 2015, at UFC 193, former boxing champion (33-2-3, 9 KOs as a boxer) and MMA‘s No. 1 Women’s Bantamweight contender, Holly Holm put an end to all of the Ronda Rousey hype.

On Saturday, November 14, 2015, at UFC 193, former boxing champion (33-2-3, 9 KOs as a boxer) and MMA‘s No. 7 Women’s Bantamweight contender, Holly Holm put an end to all of the Ronda Rousey hype.

Rousey was smashed with a brutal kick in Round 2, which dropped her hard and effectively ended her night.

Holm jumped on Rousey as referee Herb Dean rushed in to stop the fight. The boxing verses MMA debate immediately heated up on Twitter as countless memes of Rousey hit the web.

Holm showed poise in Round 1, using her boxing ability to batter and bloody Rousey with precise shots.

It remains to be seen what will come next for Rousey, who had become seemingly larger than the UFC itself with all of her endorsements and media appearances, but a rematch will certainly rake in some serious money and give her a chance to avenge a tough loss.

Rousey recently made headlines in the boxing world by gracing the cover of the legendary “Bible of Boxing,” Ring Magazine. Perhaps it is now Holm’s turn to get a few magazine covers?
