On Saturday, November 12, Luis “The Real King Kong” Ortiz makes his triumphant return to the ring with a new promotional company in Matchroom Boxing.
Ortiz is set to take on veteran Heavyweight, Malik Scott at Salle des Etoiles, Sporting Monte-Carlo in “Monte-Carlo Boxing Bonanza.”
The bout will air live on Sky Sports in the UK, and earlier today HBO announced that it will also air the bout live at 4:00 pm, EST in the United States.

Ortiz, who is one of the world’s most dangerous and exciting Heavyweights, has been plagued by inactivity, having stopped an over-the-hill Tony Thompson back in March in his only fight of 2016.
Ortiz recently gave a blistering assessment of the Heavyweight division–and his former promotional company Golden Boy Promotions.
“I am very disappointed in all of the fighters whom are running away from fighting me,” said Ortiz (via Boxing Scene).
“After buying out my contract with Golden Boy, everyone kept referring to me as a free agent but that’s not the case,” Ortiz notes. “Dade Promotions, my manager Jay Jimenez, my trainer Herman Caicedo – this has always been MY team, the reason for my success. Golden Boy was a 50 percent partner but wanted 100 percent of the credit for my career,” said Ortiz.
Ortiz looks to add to his 22 KOs from 25 wins as he takes on Scott for the WBA Inter-Continental title on November 12.
