Fresno, California – USA Olympian, WBC Continental Americas champion and undefeated hometown champion Jose Ramirez will take on his toughest and most rugged opponent Gabriel ‘Tito’ Bracero of Brooklyn, N.Y. to headline a Top Rank championship event at the Save Mart Center on Friday, December 2.

Ramirez, a Jr. Welterweight champion, has a record of 18-0, 13 KOs. Bracero, who has never been stopped, is 24-3, 5 KOs.

“As Jose moves up the ladder to a world championship fight, his opponents will be getting better and the fights will be more difficult,” said Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank.

“But Top Rank believes Jose Ramirez will win a world title and bring it home to the Central Valley. To do that, he first has to get past Gabriel Bracero.”

“Jose has moved up and this bout will get him one step closer to a world title fight. Bracero is the gatekeeper, a tough Puerto Rico contender from Brooklyn who is no stranger to the bright lights of a big event or the big names of the sport. He has a great record, a Knock Out of the Year on NBC Sports and has never been stopped,” said promoter and agent, Rick Mirigian.

Bracero got the NBC Sports 2015 ‘Knockout out of the Year’ in his brutal first-round stoppage of Danny O’Connor in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Bracero has battled in big arenas before, taking on Paulie Malignaggi and earlier against gold medalist Felix Diaz at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The previous Top Rank event at the Save Mart Center headlined Jose Ramirez in December, 2015 and was a sellout of 13,100.

One of the most prestigious arenas in America, ‘Venues Today,’ a leading publication listed the Save Mart Center among its ‘Top Stops’ for venues in the 10,000 to 15,000 capacity category.

The venue came in as the No. 1 ranked collegiate venue, the No. 4 in the U.S. and No. 12 based on concert grosses. Save Mart Center was one of seven SMG-managed arenas to rank in the Top 10 in this size category.

The Top Rank card will be televised nationally on Solo Boxeo Unimas.
