On Saturday, November 21, 2015, one of the most highly-anticipated fights of the year takes place from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lineal middleweight champion and the pride of Puerto Rico, Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs) takes on rising Mexican star, Canelo Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) in a 12-round scrap that will air live on HBO Pay-Per-View.

On Friday, legendary Mexican warrior, Juan Manuel Marquez weighed in on what he feels are important factors in the fight.

“There are three important points in this fight. Experience, the level of opposition that each fighter has faced and youth. So we have to see what style of fight each man wants to employ, but it is an important fight and should be a competitive one,” said Marquez.

Marquez is held in high esteem by boxing fans not only for his toughness and style inside of the ring, but also for his well-informed analysis outside of it.

While Marquez believes Canelo has a shot at winning the fight, he has gone on record and picked Cotto to come out victorious.

“It’s a difficult fight for the Mexican fighter,” said Marquez. “But I think he has the guts, the will and the youth to win.”

Marquez’s long-time trainer and fellow Mexican, Nacho Beristain, is sticking with his countryman and picking Canelo to win.
