The bout will be featured on the Lucas Matthysse vs. Ruslan Provodnikov fight card in Verona, New York this Saturday, April 18, 2015.

Roach—who started boxing at the age of nine—has a decorated amateur background which includes 11 national championships including the 2013 National Golden Gloves Championship and the 2013 USA Youth National Championship. He finished with an impressive amateur record of 125-15 and stands undefeated in the pro ranks at 6-0, 3 KOs.

In his last bout, Roach made his television debut on Fox Sports 1 during the Golden Boy Live series. Roach scored three knockdowns en-route to a dominating four-round TKO over Herbert Quartey.

Roach spoke with RBRBoxing regarding his upcoming fight and about his future.

“I’m looking to show that I’m here to be a big star. Golden Boy is building up their prospects and I’m hoping to be one of them.”

Roach also spoke about the impressive roster that NoXcuse has, which includes two other Golden Boy Promotions fighters in Super Middleweight D’Mitrius Ballard and Super Featherweight Kevin Rivers Jr.

“The work we get in the gym is excellent. The bond we have in our gym is just outstanding and that builds us up as champs. We go to each other’s fights and we just push each other every day.”

Indeed, NoXcuse has an impressive group of fighters and Roach has no doubt that he joined the right promotional company to help him reach his goals.

“People were looking at me and wanted to sign me, but I saw that Golden Boy had a strong stable and I trust them that they’ll get me to that level where I can be a superstar.”

Roach looks to take another step in the right direction on Saturday night in Verona.
