Friday, May 8, 2015, undefeated prospect, Mike “Yes Indeed” Reed (14-0, 8 KOs) remained unbeaten with a dominating performance against Osenohan Vazquez (8-4-1, 3 KOs).

The fight was part of the non-televised portion of Top Rank‘s truTV boxing card held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Reed got off to a quick start in the fight, walking Vazquez down and easily landing crisp, two-and-three combinations, particularly a jab to the head and straight left to the body.

If Vazquez had any plans of pressing the action, they quickly changed when Reed put some leather on him in the first stanza.

Vazquez found himself backed up against the ropes all too often as Reed’s precision punching was on full display. When Vazquez was able to get off the ropes and come forward, he was clocked by a beautiful check right hook towards the end of Round 1.

Somehow, Vazquez survived the pummeling he received in Round 1, but only came out in the second to receive more punishment. Reed continued to dominate in the second round, mixing up his offense with combinations in close quarters and from a distance.

The end of the bout was initiated by a hard, right uppercut and straight left combination which staggered Vazquez and left him reeling. Referee Harvey Dock had seen enough and called a halt to the bout at 2:00 in Round 2.

Reed continues to show improvement and prove that he is one of Top Rank’s brightest young fighters.
