On Saturday, July 23, 2016, Oscar Valdez took on Matias Rueda for the vacant WBO Featherweight title.
Valdez wasted no time pouncing on the unknown Argentine, Rueda.
Valdez’s power and precise punches proved to be too much for Rueda as he was bloodied and blasted with numerous clean shots in Round 1.
In Round 2, Valdez put the pedal to the metal and cracked Ruesda with some hellacious body shots. After being dropped for the second time, referee Russell Mora called a halt to the bout.
