This week on PBC Jabs, we catch up with former super middleweight champ Anthony Dirrell ahead of his return to the ring, undefeated 130-pound world title challenger Gervonta Davis tells us how Floyd Mayweather Jr. has influenced his career and we look ahead to several exciting PBC fights slated for the first quarter of 2017.
2017 has arrived, and PBC is set to kick off its third season January 13th on Spike. While main event will feature Erislandy Lara defending his 154-pound world title against former champ Yuri Foreman, the co-main will showcase another PBC star. Former 168-pound champ Anthony Dirrell returns to action for the first time since April as he takes on Hungary’s Nobert Nemesapati in a 10-round super middleweight bout. Dirrell is on the hunt to get back to the top of the 168-pound division, so we checked in with him and see how that hunt is going.
One night after Dirrell jumps back in the ring in Miami, young knockout artist Gervonta Davis will challenge 130-pound champion Jose Pedraza at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. We recently caught up with the 22-year-old southpaw to get his thoughts on the biggest fight of his career to date.

PBC is jumping into its third season with both fists, as there are a bunch of high-stakes matchups scheduled over the next couple of months. Let’s take a look quick look at our fight calendar.
Immediately following the Pedraza-Davis title clash on January 14th, super middleweight champions Badou Jack and James DeGale will take over the Barclays Center ring in a title-unification main event. Then on January 28th, Las Vegas will be the site of two more world title fights: There’s the 126-pound rematch between champion Carl Frampton and Leo Santa Cruz, plus a battle between undefeated 135-pound champion Dejan Zlaticanin and former two-division titleholder Mikey Garcia.
On February 25th, undefeated heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder makes his long-awaited return to the ring when he defends his crown against Poland’s Andrzej Wawrzyk in Birmingham, Alabama, and of course the date we’re all waiting for — March 4th, when undefeated world champs Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman face each other in a 147-pound title unification bout.
