“We all had that dream to be a world champion,” said Randy Caballero (22-0, 13 KOs) of his team after he scored a 12-round unanimous decision victory over Stuart Hall (16-3-2, 7 KOs) to win the vacant IBF Bantamweight title at the Salle des etoiles in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Caballero was strong in the opening rounds as he was very busy with an assault to the body and even scored a flash knockdown in Round 2.

In the middle to later rounds, however, Caballero was clearly growing more fatigued as the former IBF champion began to take Caballero to a place he’d never been—the later rounds of a championship fight.

Caballero hung in to land combinations in Rounds 11 and 12, but the fight was still very close.

The judges scored the bout 116-11,116-111, and 118-110 for Caballero, with each of those scores being wider than the fight actually was.

Eleider Alvarez (16-0, 9 KOs) dominated Ryno Liebenberg (16-1, 11 KOs) en route to a seventh-round stoppage to win the WBC Silver Light Heavyweight title.

Liebenberg was dropped with a powerful uppercut in Round 6, and the fight was stopped in the following round due to a cut Liebenberg suffered earlier in the fight.

Alvarez remains undefeated, while Liebenberg suffers the first defeat of his career.
