Rosie Perez Calls out Canelo: “Step up and Fight GGG”

As if we needed another reason to love Rosie Perez, here you go!

Add the actress and huge boxing fan to the list of people who are sick and tired of Canelo Alvarez’s sidestepping of Middleweight kingpin, Gennady Golovkin.

Golovkin, who stopped former Welterweight champion Kell Brook this past Saturday night at the O2 Arena, has been calling out Canelo for quite some time.

Instead of fighting Golovkin, the Mexican superstar vacated his WBC Middleweight title in May and really seems in no rush to face the most feared man in boxing.

TMZ recently caught up with Perez in NYC and she spoke about Golovkin and Canelo finally getting in the ring.

“Give him the fights that he deserves,” said Perez in regards to Golovkin, who has stopped 23 opponents in a row.

“Pay the man. He should be getting Canelo Alvarez money,” said Perez.

Canelo is slated to take on WBO Junior Middleweight champion Liam Smith this Saturday, September 17 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

The fight has been heavily criticized, especially given the fact that it’s being aired on HBO Pay-Per-View

“I love Canelo, I really do, but step up, make the negotiations happen and fight GGG. Put all the doubters to rest,” said Perez.

If Canelo is able to defeat Smith on Saturday night, boxing fans will no doubt continue to beat the drum for the Mexican superstar to face GGG.

“I think we’ll see it in 2017. They’re both great guys, but I think people know where my money is,” concluded Perez.

Hopefully, Canelo will Do the Right Thing.
