According to ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael, the Gary Russell Jr. vs. Oscar Escandon matchup that was originally set to take place on March 11, has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 27, 2017.
The Showtime card will still feature an enticing co-main event attraction between WBC Junior Middleweight title holder Jermell Charlo and once-beaten No. 1 contender, Charles Hatley.
The event was postponed because Escandon reportedly hurt his back in training.
The bout will still take place at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, which is set to host its first boxing event on April 8 when Vasyl Lomachenko takes on Jason Sosa.
