Tuesday, September 22, 2015, WBC title holder Shinsuke Yamanaka (24-0-2, 17 KOs) took on former WBA title holder, Anselmo Moreno (35-4-1, 12 KOs) in front of a partisan crowd in Tokyo, Japan.
Yamanaka retained his WBC Bantamweight title with a close split decision victory over Moreno.
The judges scores were 115-113 twice for Yamanaka and 115-113 once for the Panamanian, Moreno.
After losing his WBA title to Juan Carlos Payano one year ago, Moreno has now dropped two consecutive fights.
For Yamanaka, the victory over Payano marks his ninth successful title defense.
