Hats off to Al Haymon for giving Sergio Mora another chance against Danny Jacobs. In their first fight, you could see the complete frustration expressed by Mora-given a huge opportunity at a title, only to have it taken away by a misfortunate leg injury.

Mora is no quitter, he’s been a battler all of his career. To see him have to forfeit hurts. So good for you, Al Haymon, giving the little guy a chance.

Mora’s best chance at pulling off the upset is his defense. The Latin Snake can be, illusive, channeling in some swift head movement and footwork. Against a dynamite puncher like Jacobs, Mora cannot allow himself to get caught.

Problem is, Mora’s defense seems to have an on and off switch. Sometimes he’s unhittable. Other times, he’s getting knocked down by Abie Han. Mora has been down too many times to count in his career. His defense is just too spotty on the elite level.

Jacobs is an animal. He has sniper-like accuracy with his power punches, and when he hurts you, he can effectively finish you off. Jacobs nearly knocked Peter Qullin’s head off last September. I expect Jacobs to go some rounds with Mora before he catches him and finishes him off. Jacobs by late TKO.

Prediction: Jacobs

On Friday, September 9, Daniel Jacobs will meet Sergio Mora for an exciting rematch in Pennsylvania.

I think that this fight will be a war, but I see Jacobs coming out on top. He has been on a tear recently, winning his last 11 fights all by knockout, his biggest one coming against middleweight contender Peter Quillin.

Even though Mora will mean business, I cannot see him taking Jacobs off his horse. So I am going to have to give this to Danny Jacobs by fifth-round knockout.

The first fight exemplified the wisdom of a veteran in Sergio Mora. Such wisdom that Jacobs does not possess, being a less experienced fighter. And as a result, he nearly paid for it when being knocked down.

There may be cynics that dispute Jacob’s chin, after being dropped by a fighter with 9 knockouts in 28 wins, but I believe it was complacency that lead to him hitting the canvas, rather than the inability to take a punch.

Due to that wake-up call, I believe we will see a more composed Daniel Jacobs, who will be patient with his attacks and tighter with his guard.

I felt Jacobs would have stopped Mora eventually had the injury not occurred, and I feel the same way in this fight.

I believe his speed, patience and power will eventually maraud the defense of Mora, leading to a stoppage within five rounds.

Daniel Jacobs and Sergio Mora first met in August 2015, but the fight didn’t last very long. Both fighters hit the canvas in Round 1, Jacobs landing a clean right hand which dropped Mora, then Mora recovered and came back with a precise left that then sent Jacobs to the mat.

Jacobs later ended the fight in Round 2, knocking Mora down again, on his way to the mat, he fractured his ankle preventing him to continue fighting.

Though this fight may not be categorized as a “rematch everyone has been waiting for,” it will definitely answer some of the questions that were left unanswered after the first fight.

Mora has been pushing for this rematch from day one and Friday night at the Santander Arena in Reading, PA, boxing fans will get all of the answers they have been waiting for since last August.

Mora did shock boxing fans by knocking Jacobs down in the first round of the last fight, but Jacobs simply came back more hungry in Round 2, determined to prove it was just a fluke. Jacobs has expressed how this fight is not only business, but it is also more personal than any other fight he’s gone into.

Jacobs is looking to make a statement Friday night, ready to erase any doubt that Mora had or has any chance of beating him in the ring. This should be an exciting fight, with both fighters putting it all on the line. Though I am expecting a competitive fight in the early rounds, I am predicting yet another knockout for Jacobs.

This matchup is meh. I doubt Sergio Mora beats Daniel Jacobs at this point and even before the freakish leg injury, I thought Jacobs had Mora on the verge of a nap, save a beating.

Mora, who’s not known for punching power, was able to drop Jacobs in the first round of their last scrap after getting up off the canvas.

While Jacobs’ chin is a cause for concern, I don’t think Mora can win this. Mora also declared that he’s going to come forward in this rematch, which makes no logical sense.

It’s his instinct to move around the ring, however this just give Jacobs an easier target.

Finally! The rematch nobody has been waiting for. Thanks, Al Haymon–I’ve always wanted to say that.

All jokes aside, I think the trash talk has made the build up to this fight more exciting, and the first couple of rounds should be interesting.

But, I think we’ve seen what an ultra-focused Jacobs can do (ask Peter Quillin) and Mora won’t catch “The Miracle Man” squaring up with his hands down.

I like Jacobs by mid-rounds stoppage and then he’ll pretend to call out Gennady Golovkin, as long as he gets $1 billion dollars.

Prediction: Jacobs
