CWM Cyclone Promotions are proud to announce The World Is Not Enough, the IBF World Super Bantamweight title fight featuring Carl Frampton vs Chris Avalos on Saturday the 28th of February 2015, at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, sponsored by CWM FX.

Carl ‘The Jackal’ Frampton won his IBF World Super Bantamweight title by comprehensively defeating a proud champion in Kiko Martinez on a historic night in September at Belfast’s Tit anic Quarter. The purpose built outdoor arena at the Titanic Quarter held a capacity 16,000 people who witnessed the crowning of a Belfast boxing hero.

A night that will live long in the memory of all Belfast sports fans. On the 28th of February Frampton makes the first defence of his World title against California’s Chris ‘The Hitman’ Avalos at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena. CWM Cyclone Promotions in association with Top Rank will promote the event.

Avalos, is the IBF mandatory challenger having earned his shot at the champion by beating Japan’s Yasutaka Ishimoto earlier this year in an IBF final eliminator for the World title in Macau, China. This IBF World Super Bantamweight title fight is a clash between two of the best Super Bantamweights in the world. Both boxers are big punchers and have high knockout rates and it promises to be an explosive affair. Chris Avalos has been on the cusp of a World title shot for an extended period of time and as a result is currently rated as the number one contender by both the IBF and the WBO. The Californian man has finally landed his well deserved shot at a World crown but in Frampton he faces a boxer who is at the top of his game and coming off the best performance of his career.

Belfast’s Carl ‘The Jackal’ Frampton has seen his popularity soar since capturing the IBF World Super Bantamweight title in September by beating former foe Kiko Martinez, and the Tiger’s Bay man’s ever-growing army of fans will no doubt be ecstatic to have his first title defence back in Belfast.

The bout will be the first World title fight ever to be held at the city’s Odyssey Arena and already the buzz around this famous fight town is reaching fever point. The champion is delighted to be defending his IBF World title belt at home and ‘The Jackal’ knows he is in for one of the toughest tests of his career, ‘‘I’m over the moon to be defending my title at home in Belfast. The crowd and atmosphere at my last fight was unbelievable and I know it will be more of the same on the 28th of February. Avalos is a worthy challenger. This is a mandatory defence and Chris is up there with the best in the world but this is my time, my title and my city. Chris Avalos will not know what’s hit him on the 28th of February!’’

CWM Cyclone Promotions’ CEO Barry McGuigan is equally pleased to have secured home advantage for Frampton’s first title defence, “I’m delighted that CWM Cyclone have once again delivered a massive World title fight for Carl Frampton at home. This fight has the potential to be spectacular. Chris Avalos is the mandatory challenger. He brings a lot to the table; speed, power and good boxing skills. This is a very tough test for Carl Frampton but he is improving with every fight and I have no doubt that he will win and win in style on the 28th of February.”

The undefeated champion Frampton is in line for a huge 2015, with big unification fights on the horizon and a plethora of options on the table ‘The Jackal’ can be sure his star will rise to even greater heights in the coming year. First and foremost though Frampton must take care of his mandatory obligations with the IBF and see off the confident Avalos in what promises to be a cracking contest on the 28th of February.
