Roy Jones Jr Boxing Promotions, along with Montoya Boxing are set to bring hometown heroes and skilled warriors for an action packed card on September 29. The highly anticipated event will air live on beIN SPORTS (8 p.m. CT / 10 p.m ET) from inside the infamous Gilley’s Dallas.

Dallas, TX (September 6, 2017) – Roy Jones Jr Boxing Promotions, along with Montoya Boxing are set to bring hometown heroes and skilled warriors for an action packed card on September 29. The highly anticipated event will air live on beIN SPORTS (8 p.m. CT / 10 p.m ET) from inside the infamous Gilley’s Dallas.

Ray Flores and Jim Greishbar will call the action live from ringside, while Abel Arriaga will be your host for the weeks events. The 8-round main event is a true battle between undefeated hometown local John “The Phenom” Vera (17-0, 10KO) and Sunday “Golden Child” Ajuwa (13-2, 10KO) . Vera is ranked No. 7 (as a Super Welterweight) by the World Boxing of Association (WBA) and No. 12 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) while former African Middleweight Champion Ajuwa will be making his US debut and is looking to knock John Vera down a few in the rankings.

“Vera is just a regular fighter,” stated Ajuwa. “There is nothing special about him. I will beat him in his own town.” Ajuwa trains in a private gym in Oxnard and spars with light-heavyweight champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk (14-0, 12KO) and plans to relocate to Las Vegas, NV as he prepares for his clash with NABA Champion John Vera Jr.

“In this sport, it is important to give it your all each and every time.” said John Vera. “Sunday, I imagine, will come prepared to showcase his skills for the 1st time in the United States. Definitely planning on giving him a Texas welcome, Phenom style. This is a homecoming for me, and I plan to seek, destroy, and produce a KO come September 29.”

A scheduled 8-round Co-Main event, Ray Ximenz (16-1, 4KO) was a prominent amateur and is determined to create his legacy in his hometown, will step into the ring to showcase his skills against Philippines pride Rey Perez (21-8, 6KO) an aggressive pressure fighter that will be sure to invade Ximenz space with his unique style.

Undefeated Dallas light heavyweight prospect Adrian Taylor (4-0 3KO) will face Los Angeles enemy Ronald Mixon (8-1, 7KO) in a scheduled 6 round bout that will kickoff the televised portion of the evening.

Texas favorites will be represented on the Roy Jones Jr. Promotions card as Casey Ramos (24-1, 6K0) from Austin, Joey Alday (5-0, 5KO) from Dallas, Joseph Rivera (5-0, 3KO) from Houston and Edward Vasquez (1-0, KO) from Ft. Worth will square off in their hometown.

Additional fights will soon be announced. All fights and fighters are subject to change.

Tickets, priced at $100.00 VIP ringside, $75 ringside, $45.00 and $30 general admission, are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com. Taxes and fees apply to all sold tickets.

Doors will open at 6:00 p.m CT with the opening bout scheduled at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Roy Jones Jr. Promotions and Montoya boxing will kick off the 2017 – 2018 season at Gilley’s Dallas on September 29th. Ticket prices start at $30 for General Admission $45, $70 and $100 Ringside.
