According to Fight Hype, Adrien Broner will likley face Jr. Welterweight contender Emmanuel Taylor on September 6, 2014.
Contrary to what was reported a couple of weeks ago regarding Lucas Matthysse vs. Broner, it seems as though Broner will be taking a much safer bout in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio one week prior to Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana 2.
Since “Mayhem” won’t feature Broner, it remains to be seen if any fighters outside of the Mayweather Promotions circle will be featured on that card.
As for Taylor, he is a decent contender who handed Karim Mayfield his second straight defeat this past Friday on ESPN‘s Friday Night Fights.
Before that, Taylor dropped a decision to Chris Algieri–also on Friday Night Fights.
