Andrzej Fonfara (26-3, 15 KOs) scored a hard-earned 10-round unanimous decision victory over Doudou Ngumbo (33-6, 12 KOs) at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois.

The Light Heavyweight fight was the main event of a triple-header presented by Showtime Sports and Warriors Boxing promotions.

Fonfara, 26, of Warsaw, Poland, controlled the fight for most of the rounds, but at times Fonfara was hit with several of Ngumbo’s awkwardly-thrown shots, especially in the earlier rounds.

Nbumbor, 32, of the Democratic Republic of Congo, gave Fonfara a tough fight, despite almost being knocked out with a left hook in the fifth round.

Fonfara, who recently lost a tough unanimous decision against Adonis Stevenson in April, will look to once again face Stevenson or anyone else in a division that includes Bernard Hopkins, Sergey Kovalev, Jean Pascal, and Artur Beterbiev.
