On Saturday, November 8, 2014, Bernard Hopkins takes his extraterrestrial show to the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ to face the most feared one-punch knockout artist in boxing today.

Sergey Kovalev–while openly admitting that he is from Earth–possesses out-of-this world power. It’s the type of power that crumbles opponents with the flick of a jab.

So what would make someone actually want to seek this guy out? A challenge is one thing, but taking on a force of nature like Kovalev at almost 50 years old seems to be a death wish.

Not for Hopkins.

The man now known as “The Alien” is out to prove that not only is he one of the best active fighters, but he’s also one of the best ever. When it’s all said and done, Hopkins wants to dare fans and pundits to rank him next to mere mortals.

“I just want to make sure that when there is debate about Bernard Hopkins’ legacy, that people will be up all hours of the night debating arguments amongst the world of the experts on trying to figure out where we put this, or do we start this new label, where to start Bernard at the top and anybody else that comes after that underneath.” -Bernard Hopkins

Indeed, if Hopkins defeats Kovalev it will cause shock waves throughout the boxing world and make everyone reconsider who the greatest really is.

One thing is for certain, no matter where you rank Hopkins among boxing’s Mount Rushmore, we must acknowledge that in a day and age where younger men run away from challenges, it took an alien to show us how to build a lasting legacy.
