Former world title challenger Bryant Jennings (21-2, 12 KOs) defeats Donnie Haynesworth (13-2-1, 11 KOs) by third round knockout in the opening bout of the Vasyl LomachenkoGuillermo Rigondeaux undercard at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

The official time of the stoppage was 2:29 of the third round.

The 32-year-old Jennings landed a series of jabs to Haynesworth’s body and then clipped the North Carolina native with a perfectly timed right hook leaving Haynesworth wobbling in place and virtually out on his feet.

Referee Arthur Mercante started a standing eight-count only to waive the bout off when it was clear the 6’3’’ Haynesworth was moments away from toppling over.

Fighting for second time since signing with Top Rank and returning after a 20-month layoff the North Philadelphia native is hoping to once again get back in the mix in talent laden Heavyweight division.

Jennings proved he’s a viable contender by standing his own en route to a unanimous decision loss to Wladimir Klitschko back in April in 2015 in the big room at Madison Square Garden, but then was knocked out by Luis Ortiz in his very next bout.

Jennings notched his second consecutive knockout after stopping Daniel Matz last August in California.
