Dan Rafael of ESPN has confirmed that on Saturday, November 22, 2014, live from the Cotai Arena at the Venetian Macao in Macao China, Manny Pacquiao will defend his WBO Welterweight title against WBO Jr. Welterweight title holder, Chris Algieri.

Algieri will be moving up in weight to fight on the biggest stage of his career in an interesting clash of styles.

To most boxing fans, Algieri came out of nowhere to upset Ruslan Provodnikov in Brooklyn on June 14 and while not everyone thought that Algieri won that fight, it has earned him his biggest opportunity against a boxing icon.

Against Provodnikov, Algieri showed his toughness and determination by surviving two first round knockdowns and a deformed eye.

But Pacquiao is a whole nother beast. Fans have already begun to voice their displeasure with this matchup via social media mainly because of the fact that it will be on pay-per-view.

Given the fact that Bob Arum has stated that fans really don’t care about the undercard fights, chances are you’ll have to shell out at least $60 for a mediocre card.

What is your impression of Pacquiao vs. Algieri? Will you buy the pay-per-view?
