According to Dan Rafael of ESPN, WBC Super Middleweight titleholder David Benavidez (19-0, 17 KOs), boxing’s youngest titleholder, will take on Ronald Gavril (18-2, 14 KOs) on February 17 in Las Vegas.
Benavidez defeated Gavril in an exciting back-and-forth bout on September 8, 2017, a fight which saw Benavidez hit the deck in the 12th and final round.
The February 17 rematch will serve as the co-main event on Showtime, where Welterweight’s Danny Garcia and Brandon Rios will be headlining.
The first Benavidez-Gavril bout ended in a bit of controversy as Benavidez walked away with a split-decision win via scores of 116-111, 117-111 and 111-116.
