OAKLAND, CA FEATHERWEIGHT DE’VON ABRAHAM CONTINUES KO STREAK

Power-punching Featherweight De’von Abraham (2-0 2KOs), who fights out of King’s Gym in Oakland, CA, continued to make a case for being the hardest hitting featherweight prospect coming up in the professional ranks as he KO’ed “Super” Sergio Gonzalez (0-1) in the second round of a four-round fight at the Hangar in Costa Mesa, CA.

Abraham, who was sprinkled with money after his stunning KO win, saw his opponent hit the canvas three times in the second round, the second of which knockdown was not without controversy as referee Jerry Cantu took a point from Abraham when Gonzalez hit the mat, but used his arm on the ropes to keep himself upright. The referee who didn’t intervene in the action took a point quickly. Nonetheless, Abraham stopped Gonzalez at 2:06 of the second round.

De’von Abraham right now is currently planning on returning to the ring early next year in Southern California.

Abraham is trained by boxing trainer Alfredo Gopa as well as Pete “Ice Pac” Sanchez works his cut.
