Diego De La Hoya (8-0, 6 KOs) knocked out Ali Gonzalez (6-4, 1 KO) in the fifth round of a scheduled six-round Featherweight fight at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.

The bout was the co-main event of a quadruple-header presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Fox Sports.

De La Hoya, 21, of Mexicali, Mexico, controlled the fight in each round and took his time to land powerful shots before finally stopping Ali with several combinations punches in the fifth.

In the first televised fight, Taishan Dong (2-0, 2 KO) scored a second-round knockout over Tommy Washington Jr. (3-7, 2 KOs) in a scheduled four-round Heavyweight fight.

Dong, a 7’0″ phenom from China, easily stopped Washington with a right to the side of Washington’s head.

Dong, 26, is a spectacle to see with his large size and we will see how he does in his future professional fights.
