Dusty Hernandez-Harrison Hosts Boys & Girls Club at Workout

On the heels of returning home from serving as a sparring partner for Canelo Alvarez in San Diego, Dusty Hernandez-Harrison (29-0, 16 KOs) of Washington, D.C. hosted a community workout for a group of teens from the Greater Washington chapter of the Boys & Girls Club at the Bald Eagle Recreation Center in D.C.’s Bellevue neighborhood on May 3.

On the heels of returning home from serving as a sparring partner for Canelo Alvarez in San Diego, Dusty Hernandez-Harrison (29-0, 16 KOs) of Washington, D.C. hosted a community workout for a group of teens from the Greater Washington chapter of the Boys & Girls Club at the Bald Eagle Recreation Center in D.C.’s Bellevue neighborhood on May 3.

The Boys & Girls Club workout was hosted ahead of Hernandez-Harrison’s May 13 showdown against Bakersfield, California’s Mike “The Silent Assassin” Dallas Jr. (21-3-1, 10 KOs) in a 10-round welterweight bout at the DC Armory in Washington, D.C.

The fight will headline a throne boxing event that will be televised live on BET beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET. Tickets priced at $75, $50 and $35, not including applicable service charges and taxes are available at all Ticketmaster locations, online at Ticketmaster.com and charge by phone at (800) 745-3000.

Hernandez-Harrison took questions and discussed growing up in the area, its disadvantages, and how boxing helped him.

He stressed the importance of doing well in school and seizing new opportunities by drawing from his personal experiences, including being challenged by a nursing program in which he was enrolled, traveling as well as participating in sports like basketball and boxing.

The undefeated welterweight shared with the group how far he has come because of boxing and his training, his thoughts on his upcoming fight in front of his hometown fans on May 13 at the DC Armory against Mike Dallas Jr. and the opportunities he has been afforded with brand sponsors and Roc Nation Sports.

Following the work out, Hernandez-Harrison surprised the group with tickets to his upcoming fight on May 13 along with gift bags from FILA, Shoe City and RCN.
