Fight Night Champion Simulation:
Andre Berto vs. Jesus Soto Karass
For Round By Round Boxing’s second Fight Night Simulation we chose to simulate Andre Berto (28-2, 22 KOs) versus Jesus Soto Karass (27-8, 17 KOs).
The championship bout was simulated on the Xbox 360 system.
The actual bout is scheduled for 12 Rounds at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, with the vacant NABF Welterweight title up for grabs.

Berto vs. Soto Karass – Round 1
Neither man wasted any time getting the action started. Berto worked Soto Karass to the body throughout the entire round.
Berto did his best work when he smothered Soto Karass against the ropes.
Soto Karass did land his share of punches to the head, but Berto landed the more impactful blows to the body and easily took the round.

Berto vs. Soto Karass – Round 2

After being bullied in the first stanza, Jesus Soto Karass did his best to keep the fight in the middle of the ring in Round 2.
Berto got caught with straight right hands a few times as he lunged in to try and land big shots to the body.
Though Berto wasn’t able to duplicate his Round 1 performance, he still did land the more meaningful blows and did enough for every judge to give him the round.

Berto vs. Soto Karass – Round 3

Round 3 played out a lot like Round 1, with Berto effectively pushing Soto Karass around.
Unlike in his fight with Robert Guerrero where Berto tried to sit back behind the Philly Shell defense, Berto squared up and worked Soto Karass like a heavy bag.
Berto landed an impressive 22 of 32 shots to the body and earned another clean sweep on the judges cards in Round 3.

Berto vs. Soto Karass – Round 4

Round 4 started off with a barrage of uppercuts landing for both men.
After stunning Soto Karass early in the round with an overhand right to the head, Berto began focusing on the body once again.
After landing a stiff jab to the body, Berto came back upstairs with a heavy left hook, which sent Soto Karass to the canvas for the first time in the fight.
Soto Karass was unable to beat the referee’s count as Berto earned a KO in Round 4.
Berto landed 54% of his body shots (71 of 130) and never really let Soto Karass settle into a groove.
