All the trash talk leading up to the fight ended in the ring. During the weigh-in, both fighters could not stop jawing at each other.

Super Welterweight Erickson Lubin (20-1, 15 KOs) dropped Ishe Smith four times en route to a third-round knockout victory Saturday at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Lubin came out pumping the jab and coming forward but by the end of the first round, Smith was the one coming forward.

The southpaw rocked Smith with a left hook and followed it up, sending Smith to the canvas in the second round. Lubin continued to pound Smith and he hit the canvas once again.

In the third round, Lubin dropped Smith with a one-two combo. After the round, referee Jack Reiss checked on Smith and immediately stopped the fight.

Lubin became the first fighter to knockout Smith in his career. The 40-year-old Smith took a lot of punishment and was overwhelmed by the younger Lubin.

After the fight, Smith took to Twitter to officially announce his retirement.

This was Lubin’s second fight since suffering his first career loss to Jermell Charlo in 2017.
