On the June 12th edition of PBC on Spike, Erislandy Lara (21-2-2, 12 KOs) outpointed Delvin Rodriguez (28-8-4, 16 KOs) to a 12-round unanimous decision victory at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois.

The 32-year-old native of Cuba landed quick left hand in every round on Rodriguez, whose head snapped back every time Lara connected.

Lara, sensing no threat from the 35-year-old native of the Dominican Republic, stood in front of Rodriguez before slipping each of Rodriguez’ counter shots and landing more.

Lara laded 223 of 609 punches thrown, while Rodriguez only landed 63 of 339 punches thrown.

In fact, Lara was so accurate that he even managed to score a knockdown in Round 6. Lara wobbled Rodriguez with another left in Round 9, but continued picking his shots instead of going for the kill.

Lara won with scores of 120-127, retains his WBA Super Welterweight title and even earned the IBO title as well.

In his post-fight interview, Lara called out Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather and Gennady Golovkin.
