In the co-feature of the Friday, August 8, 2014 editior of ESPN’s Friday Night Fights, Norbert Nemesapati had a great first minute. Unfortunately for him, the subsequent 23 minutes went very, very badly.

Jason Escalera survived the first round, where he was wobbled by a wicked right hand, and proceeded to beat the living hell out of Nemesapati.

Escalera landed everything he wanted, including some brutal body shots and about 674 big left hooks.

Nemesapati seemed to have emptied the chamber after the first, and he never could recover. He was battered around the ring in the second round, and was finally dropped for the first time in his career in the third from an Escalera left hand. He got up, but never could mount another attack.

Instead, he spent the rest of the fight in survival mode, taking an onslaught of punches while his own shots lost all of the steam they had from early on.

Referee Vic “Chaves Sucks” Drakulich had an easy night, as he was somehow allowed to work just six days after that brutal hack job of his. There were few clinches, as Nemesapati’s only real defense was to try and fire back.

The judges had the fight scored 78-73, 78-72, and 79-72 for Escalera, whose record improves to 15-2-1 with 12 KOs, while Nemesapati falls to 14-1 with 13 KOs. Round By Round Boxing had it 79-71 for Escalera as well.
