Big Bear Lake, CA (April 14, 2016) Boxing Superstar and Unified Middleweight World Champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin hosted a Media Workout this past Tuesday at his training camp, The Summit High Altitude Training Facility in Big Bear Lake, California.

Golovkin is preparing to defend his titles against undefeated mandatory challenger Dominic Wade on Saturday, April 23 at the Fabulous Forum in Los Angeles, California televised live on HBO beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT.

Joining Golovkin was his renowned trainer, the 2015 Trainer of the Year, Abel Sanchez and promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.

At the media workout, it was announced that Jordan Brand had added “GGG” to their roster of world class athletes. “We are excited to add Gennady to the Jordan Brand family,” stated Larry Miller, Jordan Brand President. “Gennady’s work ethic, dedication to his craft and style make him a perfect fit.”

Gennady was presented with a unique Jordan Brand shoe displaying the flag of his native Kazakhstan which he represented in the 2004 Olympics in London, England winning the Silver Medal.

Gennady “GGG” Golovkin “We’re working hard every day, focused only on Dominic Wade. It’s a very important fight for me, he’s an undefeated challenger. Every fight for me is important to achieve my goal of all the belts.”

“I’m very excited to return to the Forum, Los Angeles is my second home, my family lives here now. I have a lot of friends and many fans who want to see me fight and I’m very thankful for that. The people love my style.”

“Every athlete wants to be with with Jordan Brand. It was my dream and I’m very happy to be a part of the Jordan family and I’m thankful to them for this opportunity. “

Abel Sanchez “Dominic presents a challenge because he’s young, hungry and undefeated. We haven’t any changes in training camp because I train my fighters to be the best they can be. They have to adapt to us, we’re not going to adapt to them. Gennady works hard, he will have sparred 70-75 rounds by the end of camp, a similar amount to what he’s sparred for the last 5-6 fights.”

“Gennady understands that this fight is for the IBF mandatory, if we don’t fight this guy we lose the title.”

“We’re willing to fight any middleweight champion. BJ Saunders was offered the fight and he turned the fight down for this time.”

“Big Bear is so slow and tranquil; it makes training easy. The altitude and weather is very important.”

“Gennady has a streak going of 21 knockouts for a lot of different reasons, he was blessed with God given talent but works very hard on balance, distance and technique.”

“The power that Gennady possesses with his exciting style, he’s giving the fans what they want, always pressing the action and that’s why he’s selling out arenas.”

Tom Loeffler “It’s been a great promotion and the fans are speaking loudly by purchasing their tickets. We’re headed to another sellout which means in his last two fights, Gennady will have sold out two of the premier venues in America, Madison Square Garden and the Fabulous Forum, with over 37,000 tickets sold.”

“We have some tickets left but I would encourage fans to purchase them quickly for the next ‘Big Drama Show.’”

Boxing Superstar and Undefeated, Unified World Middleweight Champion Gennady, “GGG” Golovkin, 34-0 (31KO’s) will defend his titles (WBA, IBF, IBO and WBC “Interim’) against Undefeated Mandatory Challenger Dominic Wade, 18-0 (12KO’s) on Saturday, April 23 at the Fabulous Forum in the main event at UNDEFEATED.
