Gilberto Gonzalez To Face New Opponent on Thursday’s LA Fight Club

Due to illness, previously scheduled main event fighter John Karl Sosa has pulled out of the July 2 bout and in his place Mexico City’s Gilberto “El Flaco” Gonzalez (25-3, 20 KOs) will now face Hevinson Herrera (17-10-1 11 KOs) of Barranquilla, Colombia for a 10-round super lightweight bout airing live on FOX Deportes.

LOS ANGELES (June 30, 2015) Kicking off the Fourth of July holiday weekend, LA FIGHT CLUB is sure to provide fireworks the ring at the historic Belasco Theater for the July 2 edition of the fan-favorite fight series in downtown Los Angeles.

Due to illness, previously scheduled main event fighter John Karl Sosa has pulled out of the July 2 bout and in his place Mexico City’s Gilberto “El Flaco” Gonzalez (25-3, 20 KOs) will now face Hevinson Herrera (17-10-1 11 KOs) of Barranquilla, Colombia for a 10-round super lightweight bout airing live on FOX Deportes.

Rising star and undefeated fighter Diego De La Hoya (10-0, 6 KOs) of Mexicali, Mexico is set to take on Jose “Hollywood” Estrella (14-6-1, 10 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico for the co-main event, and Oscar “Jaguar” Negrete (10-0, 3 KOs) will fight Ramiro “Zurdo” Robles (12-3-1, 6 KOs) of Guanajuato, Mexico in an eight-round bout to open up the telecast on FOX Deportes.

Trying to make airtime and making his second appearance at LA FIGHT CLUB, Melsik Baghdasaryan (1-0, 1 KO) of Glendale, Calif. will take on Abraham Calderon (0-1) of Los Angeles in a four-round welterweight TV swing bout.
