Even though Amir Khan recently won Floyd Mayweather‘s fan poll and most people assumed that a Khan vs. Mayweather announcement was imminent, it seems as though Marcos Maidana has won the Mayweather sweepstakes.
Hugo Basilotta, Maidana’s chief sponsor, stated on Twitter today that Sebastian Contursi, Maidana’s adivsor, gave him the okay to confirm Maidana vs. Mayweather.
If this is in fact true, it looks like Khan will have the option to face Adrien Broner on the May 3 undercard.
