Sergio Martinez recently stated on ESPN 107.9 FM in Buenos Aires, Argentina that he may be ready for Gennady Golovkin by the end of 2014.
“I have a very complicated fight with Miguel Cotto. Once I beat Cotto by KO on June 7, I will focus on a possible fight with Gennady Golovkin. This is the right time to fight him in a few years he will gain more experience and be more dangerous.”
For many boxing fans, this is music to their ears.
It seems as though Martinez will be looking to make some big money and then ride off into the sunset after an impressive reign as Middleweight champion.
