Jaron Ennis Makes it Look Easy

There’s a reason why Jaron Ennis (25-0, 23 KOs) is nicknamed “Boots.” It seems to be because he has grown accustomed to sticking his in his opponents.

Bakhtiyar Eyubov (14-2-1, 12 KOs) was the next man on the list as he stood across the ring from Ennis at the Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Friday, January 10, 2019.

Things started off the way many thought that it would. Eyubov pressed the action from the very beginning, but that wasn’t exactly the best idea.

Ennis floored him twice in the opening round. For reasons that don’t exactly make sense, Eyubov made it back to his feet.

In true warrior fashion, Eyubov was not deterred and continued to come forward. To the credit of Eyubov he found a way to land a few shots of his own, but it didn’t seem to bother Ennis in the slightest. He showboated and styled in the ring while he made it look easy.

As the fight progressed, it seemed as though Eyubov would be able to make it through the onslaught of Ennis. Shot after shot, Ennis landed clean, but it did not seem to effect the enthusiasm of Eyubov.

Finally, after four rounds of taking an absolute pounding, the referee decided to call off the contest. Eyubov was not a fan of the referee’s decision but with the sort of beating that Ennis was dishing out, the referee made the right choice.

Final Grade: A

What more can you give an opponent that did whatever he wanted to in the ring?

Jaron Ennis did exactly what he was supposed to do against an inferior opponent. The next step for Ennis should certainly be someone ranked in the top 10.

“I’ve been ready,” said Ennis after the fight. “We have been wanting all the guys.  They keep running.  They can’t run no more.  I’m right here.”

He is quickly showing the world that he is one of the very best fighters out there.
