On December 6, 2014, the scheduled 12-round Light Heavyweight fight between Jean Pascal (29-2-1, 17 KOs) and Roberto Bolonti (35-3, 24 KOs) ended in a no contest after Pascal struck Bolonti with a right hand after being separated from a clinch.

The fight, which was held at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada, was the main event of a card presented by Interbox and GYM Promotions.

Pascal was easily controlling the fight before he landing the foul.

Bolonti, despite getting hit with what didn’t look like a very powerful punch, was no longer able to continue and was even taken from the ring on a stretcher.

Despite the weird ending, Pascal will most likely be fighting Kovalev on March 14, 2015 as both fighters came on an agreement earlier this week.

The fight is “contingent on Pascal prevailing over Bolonti on December 6 and on the IBF granting Kovalev a special exception to postpone his mandatory title defense against Nadjib Mohammedi.” a recent press release announced.
