One of the more interesting fights on this ESPN card on April 28, features a 168-pound matchup between Philly native Jesse Hart (23-1, 19 KOs) and Demond Nicholson ( 18-2-1, 17 KOs).

The tale of the tape matches up well. Both are orthodox fighters with similar records, Hart will have a three inch height and four inch reach advantage.

This has fight of the night written all over it. Both men have something to prove and both understand the implications of a loss at this point in their careers. Each man also understands the importance of being featured on ESPN.

Hart’s only loss came against Gilberto Ramirez in a great fight last year. He picked himself up off the canvas in the second round and gave Ramirez the toughest battle of his career. Without the knockdown, Hart would have won a split decision.

A win Saturday will likely present Hart with another title shot. Hart is an obvious favorite, but Nicholson is no joke. His power and speed aren’t exceptional and nothing about him is necessarily special, but he’s solid all around.

Tough, strong, experienced for a 25 years old, you can’t count this guy out at all. You can expect a serious battle, and a sustained 12-round war between these two.

Last week Top Rank’s Bob Arum tweeted that this fight card will be a throwback one for Philly fight fans.

If there is a fight that can hold up to this tweet, it will certainly be Hart vs. Nicholson. If you’re scrolling through the channels on Saturday, don’t pass on this one.
