Leading off the Shakur Stevenson homecoming party in Newark, NJ, sharpshooter Joseph Adorno (13-0, 11 KOs) scored a second round TKO victory over Adriano Ramirez (10-3, 6 KOs).
The official time of the stoppage was 1:12.
After a feeling out round in the first, Adorno, sporting bleach blond hair, landed a perfectly timed left hook to drop Ramirez in the second round. Ramirez beat the count was clearly still stunned.
The 20-year-old Adorno remained composed and followed with another crushing left hook which caused Ramirez to bend over. Adorno then landed two consecutive right hands prompting referee Sparkle Lee to end the bout.
Adorno was born in Union City, New Jersey but after living for a while in Puerto Rico, he now resides in Allentown, PA and is coming off a unanimous decision victory win over Victor Rosas this past March.
