WBA and WBO Super Flyweight champion Juan Franciso Estrada (32-2, 23 KOs) scored a third-round TKO victory over Rommel Ansejo (26-4, 20 KOs) at the Poliforum Zamna in Merida, Mexico.

The scheduled 12-round fight was televised on beIN Sports in the U.S. and was jointly promoted by Zanfer Promotions and Max Boxing promotions.

After a slow first round, Estrada began unleashing combination punches that almost sent Ansenjo to the ground.

In Round 3, the native of Sonora, Mexico knocked Asenjo down, but it was not scored a knockdown.

Nevertheless, due to a protuberance above his right eye, Asenjo’s corner stopped the fight.

The 24-year-old champion retained his title in dominant fashion and may look to once again fight former foe Roman Gonzalez in a rematch of their 2012 fight.
