Rising 154-pound contender Julian Williams (20-0-1, 11 KOs) scored a sixth-round TKO victory over Arman Ovsepyan (14-5, 11 KOs) at the Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.

The scheduled 10-rounder was part of Showtime Extreme’s televised undercard coverage of Wilder-Molina.

After landing several good jabs, Williams landed a powerful right hand that severely wobbled Ovsepyan, who put his right glove on the canvas.

After the technical knockdown, Ovsepyan was allowed to continue, but it only led to more than two minutes of being pummeled badly and methodically by Williams.

Ovsepyan managed to make it into Round 2, but only to be outclassed with sharp jabs and strong right hands.

The beatdown continued into Round 6, when a left hook wobbled Ovsepyan that forced the referee to stop the fight.

The 25-year-old native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania continued his undefeated streak, and is looking for a breakout fight.

As his gloves were being taken off, Williams could be heard calling out former WBA champion Austin Trout.

“Austin Trout, stop running, Turkey!,” said Williams.

A fight with Austin Trout, Ishe Smith or another top ten American 154-pounder looks to be in his future for September.
