Following his harrowing knife attack endured whilst celebrating his world title triumph in Tenerife a few months back, Kell Brook returns to action on March 28, with a mandatory defense against the experienced Romanian, Jo Jo Dan.

Brook was speaking to the media today announcing his eagerly anticipated March return, which is due to take place in the Sheffield star’s hometown. On a bill perfectly named, “Unbreakable,” Brook is itching to get back to work so he can re-establish himself as a genuine challenger for the No. 1 spot at the peak of the 147 pound limit.

“I feel so emotional sitting here. I was laid in that hospital bed wondering if I would walk again,” said Brook, who recognizes just how lucky he was not to be killed.

The 28 year old’s esteemed trainer Dominic Ingle was adamant that the devastating injury will in no way play a pivotal part on the night of the fight. “Apart from the scar, Kell is functional. There can be no excuses,” said Ingle.

As expected, the reigning IBF champ’s shocking injury was never far from the conversation, however Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn was quick to big up his man’s intentions.

“Kell Brook is going to show the world how special he is on March 28; I think he will put on a scintillating performance. Kell is a very, very special fighter. He will put on a great display on March 28 and show the world he will unify the division,” stated Hearn.

The renowned Motorpoint arena is the venue for the clash, which Brook has turned into somewhat of a fortress, after four successful outings in that familiar ring.

The “Special One” will be hoping that an impressive performance against Dan, will entice his fierce rival Amir Khan into a battle between the best of Britain, which would be a massive contest. But before he can get too excited, the Jo Jo Dan examination will have to be passed, otherwise the Khan bout Brook craves could disappear right before his very eyes.

Kell Brook vs. Jo Jo Dan will be live and exclusive on Sky Sports on March 28.
