Lamont Roach Jr. seems poised to fight for his first world title in 2019 or early 2020.

Roach Jr., along with fellow Golden Boy Promotions fighter Ryan Garcia, recently moved up two spots in the WBO Super Featherweight rankings.

Roach Jr., now ranked No. 2, sits only one spot behind Garcia who was bumped up to No. 1.

NOTABLE WBO SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT RANKING UPDATES:

– Evgeny Chuprakov (former No. 1) drops out of the rankings – Ryan Garcia rises from No. 3 to No. 1 – Francisco Vargas (formerly No. 2) drops out of the rankings – Lamont Roach Jr. rises from No. 4 to No. 2 – Scott Quigg enters at No. 7

The Super Featherweight champion, Masayuki Ito, is rumored to be facing Top Rank‘s Jamel Herring next, so perhaps a Roach Jr. vs. Garcia matchup will be made. Roach Jr. holds the WBO International title at the moment and he’s also held the WBC Youth Silver Super Featherweight title.
