Lara Stops Zaveck in Round 3

Erislandy Lara (22-2-2, 13 KOs) appeared to be in proper shape to take on challenger Jan Zaveck (35-4, 19 KOs) who was upset minded and wanted nothing more than to take advantage of the opportunity this exposure provides, inclement weather or not.

Though the rain in South Florida altered the card, it couldn’t dampen the main event.

Erislandy Lara (22-2-2, 13 KOs) appeared to be in proper shape to take on challenger Jan Zaveck (35-4, 19 KOs) who was upset minded and wanted nothing more than to take advantage of the opportunity this exposure provides, inclement weather or not.

Although the fight ended up being a one-sided affair, Lara talked up his preparation. “I’ve worked very hard for this fight. I’ve concentrated very hard during training camp because I know how difficult this fight will be,” said Lara.

This work ethic of which the Cuban southpaw spoke was evident very early in the fight as Lara picked his way through the defense of Zaveck from the opening bell.

The bout boasted no significant action though in Round 4 Lara seemed to benefit from an apparent shoulder injury that suddenly convinced Zaveck to submit.

The result was never in question as the talented Lara put himself in position for another high profile bout.
