On Friday, February 17, 2017, Roberto Manzanarez (33-1, 27 KOs) will take on Gamaliel Diez (40-15-3, 19 KOs) in a scheduled eight-round Lightweight fight at the Belasco Theater in Downtown, Los Angeles, California.

The fight will headline a three-fight telecast on Estrella T.V.

Manzanerez is a 22-year-old native of Phoenix, Arizona who will look to regain his rise in the Super Lightweight rankings after a slight setback in a TKO loss to Alejandro Barrera in 2012.

Diaz, 36, is a former Super Featherweight world titlist who has struggled to reach championship gold again after losing the WBC title in his first defense against Takashi Miura.

Also on the card are prospects Genaro Gamez, Luis Feliciano, and Tenochtitlan Nava.

Gamez scored a six-round unanimous decision victory against Ochoa.

Luis Feliciano vs. Angel Rodriguez, 6 rounds, junior Welterweights Luis Feliciano - Jose Saucedo

Feliciano scored a six-round unanimous decision in his pro debut.

Tenochtitlan Nava vs. Thomas Smith, 4 rounds, Junior Lightweights Tenochtitlan Nava - Jose Saucedo

Nava scored a four-round UD victory against Smith.

“I started out slow in this fight, I felt the need to be cautious with him but he definitely woke me up,” said Nava. 

“I knew he was going to move around, and he would block my blows with his counter. I want to thank all the Marching Skulls from Westside Boxing who came to support me and this win.”

Jousce Gonzalez vs. Emmanuel Valadez, 4 rounds, Junior Lightweights Jousce Gonzalez - Jose Saucedo

Gonzalez scored a first-round KO victory.

“This is my fourth straight, first round knock out win, and that means a lot to me,” said Gonzalez.

“This win is a thank you to my team that has sacrificed so much to get me to this level. I train for 15 rounds so that I am ready for anything and anyone.”

Javier Martinez vs. Miguel A. Barajas, 6 rounds, Featherweights Javier Martinez - Jose Saucedo

Martinez scored a fourth-round KO victory.

“It was a defining debut fight, and I wasn’t going to let anyone take away what I had worked so hard for,” said Martinez.

“I saw the bruise I left under his eye during the first round, and that’s when I knew he was a tough fighter, and was going to brawl with me. I learned a lot, and I am looking forward to maturing as a fighter, becoming smarter, and using my talent more.”
